At the start of the year there are often so many expectations, goals, challenges that it can go quickly from excited anticipation to a feeling of "failure" in a matter of weeks. We've all read about blue Monday; when those heady resolutions become a thing of the past and we wonder what went "wrong." The fact is, nothing went wrong.
Life changes, the day to day grind doesn't always easily offer the time or space for our ambitions and dreams but we can cope with this by taking the pressure off. Give yourself a realistic timeline, chunk up those goals into realistic steps and get support from those who can help. And in the meantime; strive to prioritise health & happiness any way you can.
The New Year is always a time for reflection. But make sure the ambition and need for change doesn't become a burden. Better days await; they just don't always come with a New Year deadline. And no-one should write themselves off in February, when there is a whole year to move towards goals!
